The Alliance
“Nothing About Us Without Us” Youth AIDS Filipinas Alliance is a network originally established by young positives who are keen on working on the HIV and AIDS advocacy. Initial discussions were done as early as March 2008 with some young people living with HIV and AIDS and the UNFPA Youth Advocate. The alliance is registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission as a non- stock, non- profit organization.
The members are committed to STOP AIDS- to end the sufferings and inequities brought by HIV and AIDS stigma and discrimination. It was however acknowledged that to make these things possible, support and meaningful participation of young Filipinos both of those living with HIV and not, is needed in all levels of HIV and AIDS interventions (prevention, care, treatment and support). Thus, YAFA opened its doors to all young Filipinos regardless of the HIV status.
